DBU In Florida

After 16 hours of driving (10 hours Saturday and 6 hours Sunday), we finally made it to Dade City! We all had fun bonding in the car ride and at the rest stops, but we are VERY glad to finally be here and moving our legs around!

However, the closeness we had in the vans have not gone away in the host home. Habitat for Humanity provides housing for their volunteers. So we are sharing ONE house for all 20 of us. 14 girls and 6 guys in one house. Yep, we're packed like sardines! And there are only TWO bathrooms. One bathroom is in a bedroom and there is one hallway bathroom.  (Pictures will be posted later)

The guys will be sleeping on bunks/futons in the living room and front room, and the girls will be in the back rooms.

When we arrived it was dinner time. We ordered pizza while some of us went to the Wal Mart to buy groceries before it closed at 10:00. (Wal Marts are not 24 hours in Dade City!)

Our first day begins early at 8:00. Thankfully the work site isn't too far away, so we will be up and getting ready at 7:00.

Pray for us to get plenty of rest, especially our drivers for this trip!
Pray that we will have the strength and energy to work.
And pray for relationships to be made  with the workers and the other college team we will be working with. Pray that we will have a Christ-like attitude even when we are tired or doing an insignificant task. It's all for God's glory!
And to remember to be FLEXIBLE, FLEXIBLE, FLEXIBLE!

Saturday morning before we left DBU.

We had lunch in Monroe, Lousiana so we could visit Duck Commander!

The last rest stop before we arrived.

Goodnight!

In Christ,
Molly Rae
