Fellowshipping In Prison

I went to prison last night. No not as an offender. I went to witness 82 ex-offenders graduate from a program that helped them find hope, forgiveness, faith, and repentance.

When I walked inside the prison I was a little nervous. But when I sat down in the prison chapel and I looked at faces around me (who were about my age), I wasn’t afraid. Hearing some of their stories of how the program helped them and how they’ve changed, talking and laughing with them afterwards, fellowshiping with a room full of prisoners.... I left with so much joy in my heart to see such a sight. To see these men not as criminals but as brothers, fathers, sons, nephews, uncles, co workers and friends. To see how God’s grace is not limited, and to see lives changed with the truth and hope of Jesus Christ.

All this to say,
I would go back to prison. 💛

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:34-36‬ ‭
